VAIL AND BEAVER CREEK MOUNTAINS SURPASS 100 INCH CUMULATIVE SNOWFALL MARK

VAIL, Colo.- Dec. 12, 2007- December month-to-date snowfall at Vail and Beaver Creek is tracking well ahead of average and both resorts today reported that they have surpassed the 100 inch cumulative snowfall mark for this season. Season-to-date Vail and Beaver Creek are reporting 101 inches of snow at their mid-mountain reporting sites. Vail is 18 inches ahead of its 83 inch cumulative average through today’s date and the flakes continue to fall today.
A series of powerful storms has dropped 56 inches of snow at Vail so far for the month of December and 53 inches at Beaver Creek. Vail’s December snowfall monthly average is 59 inches and Beaver Creek’s average is 55 inches for the month. Over the past week both resorts have had significant snowfall which has allowed for more terrain to open. Vail is reporting 41 inches of snow in the past seven days and Beaver Creek is reporting 35 inches. “Winter is in full swing at Vail and Beaver Creek and the energy and enthusiasm at our resorts is very high,” said Bill Jensen, President of Vail Resorts Mountain Division. “The dramatic change in weather over the past two weeks has had a major positive impact on conditions and is terrific news for holiday skiers and snowboarders.”Posted in Vail, Beaver Creek .
