Included Activities and Events
Welcome Party—A party for approximately 60-90 minutes on the night of arrival. Wine
and appetizers will be offered. Appetizers will include smoked salmon and
other light finger foods.
Tour of Coast—Once you leave SFO, the group will drive to Bodega Bay Headland for views of the Coastline. Lunch will be on-your-own at one of the many clam chowder/Dungeness crab restaurants. From there you’ll travel up the coast to Jenner by the Sea/Mouth of the Russian River and then inland to Healdsburg.
Lunches—Two lunches will be offered. Lunch will include deli-type sandwiches from a
local grocery store and bottled water. Sandwiches are made to order for
each participant.
Wine Tasting—Five tastings of approximately 4-5 flights per event. Wineries will be in Sonoma, Russian River, and the Dry Creek Valley over a three-day period. Tastings may also include tours of the winery, vineyard and caves.
Shopping—Both the Healdsburg Plaza and the Sonoma Square offer excellent opportunities to discover unique art galleries, antiques, hat and clothing, bakery and specialty cheese outlets…and even a few winery tasting locations. Please note on Tuesday evening at 6 pm, Healdsburg Plaza offers a free concert by local musicians.
State Park Tour—A morning will be spent in Armstrong Woods before your afternoon tasting events. Armstrong Woods is an old growth redwood grove. It has never been harvested. The tallest two trees in the grove are 308 ft., with an estimated age of 1,400+ years old, and a base of almost 15 ft in diameter.
Bay Ferry Ride—An optional day in Sausalito with shopping and afternoon dining on San Francisco Bay is offered. Take a 25 minute ferry ride across San Francisco Bay. The cost of the ferry ride is about $12.
Cooking Class and Dinner—A private cooking event is offered one evening from 7-10 pm. The class is taught by a local Sonoma County chef from Relish. One menu from this year included seared scallops with champagne beurre blanc, saffron scented risotto w/peas and prosciutto, chocolate soufflé with salted caramel sauce. Dinner is served following the class.
Food and Wine Pairing—A special afternoon event of food and wine as only Destination Sonoma can prepare. Don’t miss it!!!
Optional Activities and Events (extra costs)
Activities such as biking, golf, zipline, morning hot air ballooning in Sonoma County can be set up for you. San Francisco-based activities such as Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, Lombard Street, Walking Tours, and more can be recommended.
