Let the pampering begin!
Telluride has been a "bucket list" destination for many skiers, as it has the genuine charm and history of an old mining town surrounded by majestic views with 2,000 acres of skiable terrain, a huge variety of cuisine on the mountain and in town, interesting shops, music and entertainment. There are no chain stores or fast food eateries to distract from the charm.
When you're on the mountain, take the "Plunge" for breathtaking views of the town and surrounding peaks, or head over to the "Sunshine" lift for even fewer crowds and meandering, wide green and blue slopes. The gondola is a unique 13 minute ride connecting the mountain village, Telluride and the ski resort for one of the most spectacular rides of your life! Telluride is a really special place that truly has something for everyone. A huge amount of expert trails, tree skiing, steep groomed runs, intermediate moguls and long beginner runs - so much to stay busy and challenged all week!

The award winning Peaks Resort is ski in/ski out with an unmatched number of amenities including: an eco-friendly spa, Sauna, steam room, heated indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, even a waterslide! A huge outdoor deck for apres ski overlooking the mountain, ski valet, state of the art gym complete with Pilates Reformers and Peloton bikes are available if you still have some energy to burn.
Rooms are bright, bold and inviting, and fully stocked with coffee maker and gourmet coffee and tea, 2 terry cloth robes, hairdryer, Wi-Fi and all the comfort you deserve with stunning views of the nearby San Juan mountains! And, its just 10 minutes via gondola to the historic town of Telluride, CO. Once there, the Galloping Goose bus can be hailed on any corner to take your tired ski legs with all your shopping loot any length of the 8 blocks of town!
The Spa, acclaimed by SpaFinder as the best location for maximum rejuvenation, offers 32 dedicated treatment rooms and a full service hair and nail salon - make a reservation to tame that helmet hair! The resort also offers several onsite dining options, including the new slope side scene at the Decks for lunch or apres ski. Altezza uses locally sourced ingredients in their casual cuisine, enjoyed with stunning panoramic views of the San Juan mountains at sunset. Breakfast is included daily, or you can head to newly remodeled Silver Pick Coffee for a specialty waffle and coffee, or all-day Grab & Go items to take on the mountain for a quick outdoor picnic!

The Mountain(s)

Established in 1878, Telluride is a National Historic Landmark District with its history of mining ever present. Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank here, and a local mine was first in The World to use alternating current electricity. If you've ever had a Coors beer, those mountains on the can are from nearby Wilson Peak nestled inside the incredibly beautiful box canyon views.
For those of us ready to spoil ourselves after a tough year of isolation, this trip is the one to do it all with history, charm, uncrowded slopes and first-class ski in/ski out accommodations. With a base elevation of 9,500 ft offering 2,000+ acres of pristine powder-packed terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels, it delivers the ease of access to start and end your day. Repeat! Telluride’s terrain is some of the best in the country! The vertical is a huge 4,425ft if you hike for it, 3,845ft is lift serviced. But what is truly terrific about Telluride is that even intermediates can ride to the summit on the Gold Lift (chair 14) and peek over the edge into the extreme terrain before skiing down "See Forever", which is a fantastic long trail that you seem to 'ski forever'.
For fun off the slopes, take a snowmobile ride to a mining era ghost town, or visit the historical museum in an old miners' hospital. Art classes are available at the Ah Haa School, or stop in at the unique Wilkinson Public library to rent snowshoes or even rent a karaoke machine for a few days! Oh boy!
