The Mountain

NORTHSTAR Mountain is a pristine reserve, hidden in an eternity of trees and quiet valleys. Our home, Mount Pluto, is an extinct volcano. When it last erupted 2 million years ago, its lava and mudflows dammed what we now call Lake Tahoe. What nature created, we continue to enjoy, and hope that it becomes part of your family’s traditions We’re thankful it created this unforgettable place and rest assured, scientists confirm it shows no signs of becoming active again. Northstar California Resort offers 3,170 skiable acres of impeccably-groomed trails and dramatic glade skiing;. With ski in ski out luxury and family accommodations; and penchant for Distinctive detail imparts a true sense of California laid-back luxury and style. The Village at Northstar's has fine boutique shops, restaurants, movie cinema, 9,000 square-foot skating rink, heated cabanas and fire pits perfect for roasting S'mores. Deemed the best resort for families by Outside Magazine, Northstar California's intimate yet approachable atmosphere offers a year-round retreat which pours forth world-class ski and ride programs, culinary excellence and unique traditions which together offer an experience of a lifetime.
