Join Mary for a fun return to Schweitzer Mountain. Day of arrival be prepared for Schweitzer’s Famous Baked Potato Bar, after all we will be in Idaho. Planning to take a trip to Sandpoint, the closest town to the resort for our club dinner. Have an IKON pass, this is the trip for you. If no IKON there are group lift ticket discounts available also.
TRIP HIGHLIGHTS
  • Round trip air from Tampa to Spokane WA. Why Spokane, it’s the closest airport to the mountain. We will be doing a grocery stop on the way.
LODGING
The Humbird puts you at the center of Schweitzer Village, providing ski-in/ski-out access to the largest ski area in Idaho. Humbird amenities include a rooftop hot tub, microwave, small frig and coffee maker, boot, glove dryer and air purifier. There is the Glass Room gathering room, ski locker access and dining at Crow's Bench.
In the Village area there are restaurants, pubs, bars and pizza, live music and wine tasting all within a short walk from Humbird. If you’d like to do something different after a day of skiing, there is a local bus that will take you to Sandpoint, the closest town where there’s shopping, restaurants and a few bars also, bus runs 6am to 6pm. Do you like to gamble, Coeur D’Alene is close and Dinner at Coeur D’Alene casino is available for a night out away from the mountain..
MOUNTAIN
Schweitzer is considered by many as the best skiing in Idaho. We now have new Creekside Quad lift that opened in December 2023. While many of our chairlifts are “high-speed” we tend to enjoy life at a leisurely pace. Make no mistake, we are here for the skiing and riding. And maybe a few cold ones at the end of the day. We play hard and laugh even harder. We enjoy life at every turn, even the ones that send us flailing in a pile of powder. So if you’re new here, here’s your open invitation to our humble slice of paradise. 80 years old free lift tickets, yeah. With 300" of annual snowfall, over 3000 acres Schweitzer's two bowls offer up a wintry mountain playground worth exploring. If you ask a local where they love to ski, you may not find the name on the trail map. While there are 92 named trails on the mountain, some of the best powder stashes and "send it" worthy features can be found in hidden zones found in the trees or past a certain feature. The best part about skiing at Schweitzer is that there's a groomed intermediate trail off every lift, meaning groups with a variety of ability levels can choose their own adventure and meet back for another lap. Schweitzer's views are some of the best in the area. Overlooking Idaho's largest lake, skiing and riding down Schweitzer Bowl offers the ultimate backdrop of Lake Pend Oreille. Looking for the best selfie spot? On a clear day, ride any of the frontside lifts and you've got it. If you head to the summit via the Lakeview Triple or Great Escape, soak in 360-degree views of neighboring mountain ranges in Montana, Washington, and Canada.
